What is it?
The government is providing funding to cover a one-off universal catch-up premium following the enforced closure of schools during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Schools must use this funding for specific activities to support their pupils to catch up for lost teaching over the previous months, in line with the curriculum expectations for the current academic year.
While schools can use their funding in a way that suits their cohort and circumstances, they are expected to use this funding for specific activities which will help pupils catch up on missed education. We have identified small group and 1:1 provision and have been able to use the funding to increase staffing capacity.
